What Is Headlight Restoration?
In years past, headlights were made of glass. This limited car manufactures to certain sizes and shapes. Once technology advanced, it allowed automakers to use polycarbonate to create headlight lenses. Polycarbonates gave manufacturers many advantages to changing the shape and size of headlights but the major drawback is that over time oxidation changes the physical surface of the headlight lens. New headlights have a UV resistant coating applied by the manufacturer. This helps protect the lens against oxidation. After years of exposure to the elements, the coating breaks down. Professional Headlight restorations remove this oxidation by sanding, polishing, and re-applying a protective UV coating. Restoring your headlights to their original clarity improves the vehicles appearance and more importantly increases night vision while driving.
What Is Windshield Repair?
To repair the damage, our windshield repair technician will inject an optically matched acrylic resin into the damaged area of the windshield. The resin replaces the air trapped within the damaged area and is then cured, creating a molecular bond that strengthens the glass and keeps the damage from spreading. Once cured, the resin is leveled to the glass surface and polished to a glass-like finish. When performed properly, the repair will be nearly invisible and not detectable by touch. Repairing your glass not only enhances your vehicles cosmetic appearance, but more importantly, provides safety to the vehicles occupants by restoring the windshields structural integrity.
